After an absence of almost two years, we are back in the hall. Those were long years. An aborted season in 2020 and a digital season in 2021. But today it's that time again. We can go again! We are back in Almere, the hall where the last contest was before Covid hit.
This contest is still with some protocols that we all have to stick to. And CGN can proudly say that this is going successful. Both the participants and the public, everyone adapts and is mainly concerned with enjoying. All scores can be found here.
Some things are also different on the floor. During the corona period, many groups have had a hard time recruiting and keeping members and finding as much rehearsal time as possible. Overall, we see fewer groups than we are used to in Almere. And also per group the number of members is sometimes smaller than before. We would like to make another appeal here: go support your local association and keep participating in this great hobby.
And how great it is, is demonstrated by all today's participants. Because some things don't change. Such as starting with the Kids class. The Pride PreCadets are the first to hit the floor. What a welcome again. Every association can be proud of what they show on the floor. In the morning, the audience sees nineteen groups on the floor. In the Kids Class we see Trinity Kids win in the end. In the Cadet Class they are The Pride Cadets. And also in the Junior Class, The Pride finishes at the top. Regional A Class is for today's only foreign colorguard: Red Light.
We open the afternoon program with the participants with live music. Here, too, we see that many associations had a hard time the past two years. In several classes we see only one participant. But we are so proud to see them all again. The first steps on the competition floor have been taken again and there are many more to follow!
In the A-Class of the colorguards we see seven participants who make it very exciting among themselves. The Pride of the Netherlands and Sensation are the last participants in today's competition. We close the day with a performance by Flevo Vlag. What a great sight it is to see the enthusiasm of all those participants! And we're not just talking about Flevo Vlag. The participants from all other groups, the audience, the CGN volunteers, the judges... everyone was beaming!
In short: we were finally back to go again! And we want more of this, much more!
