Normally, registration for the next CGN season starts at the end of September. However, we will start this process later. Because at the moment it is not yet sufficiently clear what that season will look like. CGN is looking at what is possible together with delegates from the groups and our volunteers and judges. The aim is to have everything clear by the beginning of November and to start registration as soon as possible then.
Naturally, it is the developments surrounding the Corona virus that make it so difficult to fill in the season. We keep all options open. Matches without or with little audiences, possibilities for an online competition, nothing is currently off the table. What is financially responsible, what makes it valuable for the groups to participate and what is comfortable for all volunteers. And all that within the limits of what is allowed. And the latter is perhaps the most difficult to fill in, because no one already knows what is possible in Drachten in January, or in Eindhoven at the end of March.
Do you want to know what is possible now, for example to be able to rehearse in the right way or perhaps even prepare a performance? Dutch groups can take a look at the KNMO site. There is a collection all relevant information at: https://www.knmo.nl/knmo-over-coronavirus/
Please check the websites of your national or local authorities for regulations and updates applicable to you.
We will try to keep everyone informed of important developments via our own website in the coming period.
We can imagine that for groups not from the Netherlands, preparing for a CGN season in 2021 is even more challenging. That is one of the reasons we are organizing an online information evening on Monday 5 October especially for non-Dutch speaking groups. In this session we will update you and discuss whether there are still opportunities for you for a nice indoor season. We are eager to hear about your current challenges and future plans.
